How is a retrofit different from a replacement?
A replacement swaps equipment for a like-for-like new unit. A retrofit modernizes targeted parts of the system, such as controls, pumps, or drives, so you capture most of the efficiency gain without the cost and downtime of a full plant replacement.
Will the building have to shut down during a retrofit?
Usually not. Retrofits are normally phased around occupancy, with cutover work scheduled after hours or on weekends. We scope the phasing before the work starts so you know what is affected and when.
Can you retrofit controls without replacing the equipment?
Yes, and it is often the highest-return project in the building. Modern controls and scheduling on sound existing equipment frequently deliver more savings per dollar than replacing the equipment itself.
